At home resting...

We went to the hospital at noon today. I was having contractions every 3-4 minutes and they were pretty painful. We ended up getting the same nurse we got on Monday. She was surprised I was still pregnant!

I got all hooked up and yes, I was contracting and they were bigger than Monday. She did an exam and based on her measurements, I had progressed from a 3.5 on Monday to a 4. That's good! While she was in there, she said she stretched out my cervix a bit.

Before the exam, I was "coupling" my contractions. Every other one would be a big one and the in between ones were two right close to each other. After the exam, the contractions were really good...and then went back to coupling again. Ugh...

My doctor is apparently not on call this weekend and the nurse got the doctor on call. They both thought that my pitocin level just wasn't high enough. Had I lived further away from the hospital, they might have given me a pitocin IV. But, since I was so close, they suggested going home, having something to eat (I only had 1/4 of a baked potato at 11:30), drinking lots of water and walking. The nurse and the doctor both figured that I'd be back in the hospital with major contractions in a few hours.

Did that...had some cereal, filled up my mug with water and TC and I walked around the block. I did have some contractions through the walking and then I needed to stop for a bathroom break. I rested on the couch and after a while, the contractions stopped. Then I cried. Nice. Crying because I wasn't in tremendous pain.

The contractions are coming back and are 3-5 minutes apart and seem to be getting stronger. It's possible we'll be going back tonight, but I'm trying not to think about that...too much.
