National Lighthouse Day!
It was on this day in 1789, that Congress approved an Act for the establishment and support of lighthouse, beacons, buoys and public piers. In Celebration of the 200th Anniversary of the signing of the Act and the commissioning of the first Federal lighthouse, Congress passed a resolution which designated August 7, 1989 as National Lighthouse Day.

My favorite ice cream soda is vanilla ice cream in Coke. But I also like lime sherbet in Sprite. And I love it when the soda gets all icy on top of the scoop of ice cream!

International Children's Book Day!
Let's see. What was my favorite children's book? I love The Cat in the Hat Comes Back. My favorite part is when the pink stuff gets blown all over the snow. Cracks me up every time! I also loved Shel Silverstein and Judy Blume books.
X-man loves whatever book you are currently reading to him. However, he does have The Giving Tree memorized!
