Look ma! I can follow directions!

Like my new header? Not very Christmas-y...oh well.

It took me two hours to make this picture of X-man into a comic-style drawing. The directions were in Digital Scrapbooking Magazine and the tutorial was excellent! I'm quite proud of myself.

Great Napping Baby, Batman!

This gold star goes out to Pieces of Me for her fabulous napping advice!

For a while, X-man napped in his crib, but only for 15-20 minutes. Then something happened and he totally protested the crib for naps. At the end of July when my parents and sister visited, we figured out that X-man would take a nice nap on the floor in my living room. So, I started letting him nap there. And he'd sleep for about 30 minutes, sometimes as long as an hour.

Problem? The general tip-toeing I have to do in the living room while he's asleep. Always worried about if the phone's going to ring and wake him up; the typing on the keyboard is going to wake him up; someone rings the doorbell; etc.

So, yesterday, I asked my little buddy group for some tips on getting him to nap in his crib. Pieces of Me suggested letting him fall asleep on the floor and then moving him to his crib. So, for his afternoon nap I did that and he slept for 45 minutes in the crib!

And he's been in his crib now for 30 minutes ASLEEP!!!

I just can't believe it! I'm hoping that eventually I'll be able to put him straight in his crib and not have the initial sleeping on the floor bit. However, I'd rather be worrying about fixing this issue than trying to get him to sleep at night. He does that great!

Thank you, X-man!

Papers by Sarah Meyer

Thank you, X-man for...

1. Being such a voracious eater that I'm wearing size 8 jeans today! No muffin top and I can comfortably sit down, too!

2. Eating your bananas so well yesterday. You tried them for the first time and you certainly did act like they were tasty! (By the way, why do the baby food fruits not smell like the corresponding fruit? The banana smells weird and the peaches are just almost noxious!)

3. Sleeping so well! I nurse you around 7:15 or 7:30 and put you to bed around 8:00 then you sleep all night! You usually wake up around 7:00 but sometimes you sleep until 7:30! And when I've put you to bed the last few nights, you've been drowsy, but not asleep, and you've gone to sleep on your own!

4. Smiling at me with that great big toothy grin whenever I walk into the room with you! And reaching out for me when you see me. Nothing like feeling needed!

Love you, punkin pie!

This could be bad...

Look at what I've started doing.

Yep, that's a digital scrapbook page. I'm hoping that getting into this will get my pics of X-man scrapped and will help me learn how to use Photoshop! As a point of bragging on myself, the tied ribbon is an altered piece I did myself...using a tutorial by Tbog on www.gottapixel.net.

I hope X-man starts taking longer naps soon!
