Ick-ola

I should have paid more attention when I was buying the bag of frozen mixed veggies at the store this morning.

What I wanted was a bag of peas, carrots and green beans.

What I got was a bag of peas, carrots, green beans and LIMA BEANS!

I'm not one for picking offending veggies out of one's soup, but you better bet your sweet bippy I'll be picking those nasty lima things outta my soup tonight!

ICK! Lima beans. Who thought those were a great idea anyways?!

I hate when I accidentally grab a bag of veggies that has water-chestnuts in them. Barf!

"Sweet bippy" Ha! But seriously, I've never met a vegetable I didn't like. Course I've never tried okra, mustard greens or beets.

I actually decided to be a big girl and just ate them. I couldn't really taste them in with all the other stuff.

But I'm with you, Ms. Rudeness, on the water chestnuts!

Scribbit, okra is great...unless the cook messes it up and it turns slimy. Then it's not so pleasant. But I love some good fried okra!

Sung to the tune of "Closer Walk with Thee": Just a bowl of butter beans; I don't want no collard greens....(you'll have to ask Dad the rest of the words...I forget)

You need to cook lima beans for a looonnng time in a pot of water with some fatback (or bacon).
