Does ketchup count as a vegetable or a fruit? It's got to be one or the other, right???

From Miriam-Webster: a seasoned pureed condiment usually made from tomatoes
I'm going to go with telling people it's thicksotropic and leave them to wonder. Granted, it's not anywhere near answering the question, but most people have no idea what it means. And, it's your favorite word, as I recall....
Oh a fruit, definitely. You figure tomatoes are fruit right? and then added to the sugar it's got to be a fruit. If you were to be hoity toity you could even call it a coulis or puree de fruit or something :)
According to my Weight Watchers, Ketchup is a condiment with zero points.. which is what almost all the veggies add up too because of the low or no calorie points. Fruits on the other hand are points and have calories because of sugar content. Thus, you have a tomato as a veggie. Ladee da

Yep! Love that word thixotropic. It's a nice $10 word.
Ronald Regan said it was a veggie...but i think tomatoes are a fruit so there's that....if you add in the sweetener i think it might be a desert...
