This is gonna hurt me more than it'll hurt him!

No worries. There's no physical hurting going on.

We're just starting a new schedule for X-man. And I know it's going to be harder on me than it will be on him.

Wednesday two weeks ago, X-man didn't nap at all at children's day out. I'm sure part of it was that his favorite teacher wasn't there that day. I brought him home and at 2:30 put him down for a nap. He might not think he needs a nap, but if he doesn't get one, he is just almost unbearable at 5:00.

Wednesday last week, he only napped 10 minutes...and his favorite teacher was there that day. He usually only naps an hour at CDO anyway, but naps at home usually start at 11:45 am (after lunch) and he wakes up 3 hours later.

Thursday and Friday of last week brought major tantrums at nap time. Both days he fussed and after an hour of fussing, I went to get him out of his crib. Thursday we rocked in the living room and I told him we just had to be still and quiet. He finally fell asleep in my lap. Friday, same thing, except after we rocked for a little bit, I put him back in the crib awake and he fell asleep after 10 minutes of talking.

TC and I decided that maybe we should add a snack in around 10:00, move lunch from 11:00 to noon or noon:30 and then put X-man down for a nap at 1:00. We kinda followed that schedule on Saturday and Sunday and it seemed to work. So, we're going to continue on with that schedule today.

This gets all complicated because I've typed up X-man's schedule for whomever keeps him while TC and I are in the hospital birthing his baby sister. I even have a disclaimer on the schedule that it's not necessarily a tried-and-true schedule yet.

that is pretty much Goober Baby's schedule.

Also, don't underestimate his ability to sense that somethings afoot with the arrival of Baby A. And the one thing that has gotten me through the arrivals of baby 2 and 3 is ROUTINE, ROUTINE, ROUTINE!! Routine saved my brain cells many a time!

V's schedule is pretty similar: up at 8-ish for the day, breakfast. Snack around 10, lunch around noon and down for a nap between 12:30 and 1. Sometimes she fusses for 5 minutes, sometimes it's 20 minutes. Then back up around 2:30ish till bed at 9 (ugh - I know. that part's not great, but I cherish the hour in the morning too much to get her to bed any earlier!)
