7 months (and a few days)

Buttercup,

You are absolutely adorable! And you're on the downhill slide to one year!

You are a great sitter. I love watching babies sit up because they all sit up so straight and you are no exception. We could learn a thing or two from you!

As you can see in this picture, you laugh...a lot! When you see X-man first thing in the morning, you crinkle up your nose (people say I make the exact same face) and you SQUEAL!!! What a squeal it is! And you squeal for daddy when he comes home. You were even squealing for the nursery workers last night at church when we went to pick you up. You are (mostly) in a good mood and happy! No signs of real babbling yet. All we get are squeals and screams.

You are not in a good mood when I'm not feeding you fast enough at the table. And just like your squeals are super happy, your screams are super mad. You get your whole body into the fit and I know you are really unhappy. You've eaten peas, green beans, sweet potatoes, squash and you've just tried prunes...which you seemed to love! I was hoping the prunes would help your little digestive track get with the program. They seemed to have done the trick (at least for the day after the prunes!).

You like to play peek-a-boo and it cracks me up. All I have to do is put a little towel or some kind of covering down and you'll pick it up and put it over your face. "Where's Buttercup?" and you'll immediately pull the towel off your face, grin at me and wait for me to say, "There she is!!" And laughter ensues. Love it!!

Kisses. I love kisses! And you give me the sweetest, wettest, sloppiest kisses! I've never seen you give anyone else kisses so I know these are special just for mommy.

You are getting really good at raspberries! And you look so proud of yourself when you make noises. The way you pucker up and stick your little tongue just barely out of your mouth is too funny.

You were baptized on Sunday. The 40th birthday of our church. You were the perfect baby and didn't fuss at all...even when he preacher put water on your head! You just watched everything and just took it all in. You wore the same gown that your brother wore (family heirloom...worn by me and my sis and my mom and her brother). It was a very special day with lots of family here to visit.

As for nursing, you're still eating 5 times a day. But you are so disctracted sometimes I wonder if you're getting any milk at all! You don't usually fuss to make me think you're hungry, so I can only assume that you're getting plenty of food. And it appears you're growing out of the size 3 diapers, so I know you're not losing weight!

I can't wait to see what next month brings!!
