Frog and a Bear and a...Gooster?!?

We have a piano at home and X-man likes for the two of us to sit at the piano and sing songs. We've got a few children's song books and I'll play the melody (harmony, too, sometimes when I'm feeling wild and crazy!) and sing.

The first song in this one book (the other one fell behind the piano a few weeks ago...gotta remind TC to move the piano and get it) is The Muppet Show Theme. You're looking at the graphic on the top of the page. What do you see?

Well, X-man will open the book to this page and randomly play notes and sing (more like chant): "Frog and a Gooster. Frog and a Gooster. Frog and a Bear and a Gooster." It's a catchy little chant and gets stuck in my head. A what? Yes, a gooster. I have no idea what that is, but when I asked him to show me the frog, he pointed to Kermit. When I asked him to show me the bear, he pointed to Fozzie and when I asked him to point to the gooster, he pointed to the two dudes on the right. I even repeated the word "gooster" back to him and he said "Yes!" And when I repeat words back to him that aren't right, he'll tell me, so I think I've got the right word. Now, he has seen The Muppet Movie once and The Great Muppet Caper once (thanks to TC for getting me a great birthday present one year!). Is it possible that one of those guy's name sounds like gooster?

Anyone know the names of those two guys?

My first thought was "Scooter" but then I did a little research and found that the guy playing the saxaphone is called "Zoot" maybe that is what he is trying to say.....would he know that?

yeah, that's zoot, and the fella with the guitar is floyd pepper, but i can't remember how i know that, nor can i understand how a toddler could know it (i think he introduces the band in the Muppet Movie, but it's been a while since i've seen it). does he know the names of the frog and bear? it seems that he would know those before knowing the names of memebers of the electric mayhem...

a quick google of "gooster" yields nothing. just a few user names, and a european shopping site.

Groovy, you crack me up!! He can't just point to the frog and say Kermit, but if we ask him who Kermit is, he'll point to the frog. Same with Fozzie.

The muppet he knows without hesitation is Miss Piggy!

Go figure!
