Birthday Party Etiquette
X-man got his first invitation to a birthday party. It's going to be at this place that looks like one giant bouncy castle. Should be fun! But, taped to the invitation was a "registry" card that said the little girl had a "wish wagon" of toys at a local toy store. What? Are we supposed to have gift registries for our birthdays? Weird. I won't get into what I think about that...
Anyway, is it totally rude if I just get the girl a book? That's what I would get anyway. Maybe I could put it in a little crocheted cupcake purse I made a while ago...

Wow! I would never think about doing a gift registry for V's birthday!
I guess maybe if the mom got so sick of friends/family asking "what does she want for her birthday?" But I'd be sure to put something in that says it's not a requirement, that's for sure! I do recall starting a wish list through toys r us that I could allow others to view, but I think that was pretty much just for grandparents (and that was her 1st birthday - a biggie!)
I don't think it's totally rude at all. After all, you want it the gift to be sincere. And purses are always a hit!
Really?? Seriously?? Wow!! I have not heard of such a thing.
I would definitely go with a book (and a cupcake purse...that sounds too adorable!)
Sorry - that first comment was from me, I didn't realize I was logged in as my other self!
