Funny Things

The funniest things come out of X-man's mouth. It's just so cute to watch them grasp our language.

This happened a while ago, but I have to get it down! My dad (who we call Paw-Paw) was changing X-man's diaper and said, "Now it's time to powder the donut!" So, X-man, being the little tape recorder, remembers that "that" is called a donut. A week later, we're at dinner with TC's family and X-man looks at me and says, "Time to powder the donut!" Oh, goodness! Good thing no one else heard him...or knew what he meant. Later that evening he comes up to me, points "there" and says, "That's called a donut." It was time to change his diaper anyway, so I took him to the room and told him what it was actually called...using the proper word for it. The next morning he came up to me, pointed to it and said, "That's called a peanut!" He was so proud of himself and I nearly spit out my drink!

...

Yesterday, X-man vacuumed up a cricket. About a month ago I vacuumed up a bug with the little vacuum just because I can't stand to smash bugs...don't like the crunch they make! So I vacuumed it up and threw it outside. Back to yesterday: X-man tells me that there's a bug in the vacuum and that we need to throw it outside. I told him I'd do it later. The cricket wasn't going anywhere (he was dead). This morning, he goes to the vacuum and says, "Mommy, what's that, mommy? What's that? Mommy, it's a...a...a crab!" He couldn't remember cricket, but I was impressed he came up with another "C" word!

...

And today when I dropped X-man off at his class for CDO, he looked at me and said, "Now mommy go." That means: I'm going to play now. You leave! I'm so glad that he's having fun in there! He had a great day and so did Buttercup!
